Indooroopilly Toastmasters President, Fiona
Indooroopilly Toastmasters hold their annual speech contests in August and September. This is the opportunity for members to have a completely different speech experience and be judged along with the others who enter the competition.
There are 7 contests that can be held: Table Topics, Humorous, Evaluation, International, Novice, Tall Tales and Interpretive Reading. Each has their own rules and guidelines as well as judging criteria. Winners go on to compete at Area level, against the winners of the contests of other clubs in our area, then Division level and the ultimate is at District level.
These speech contests are great entertainment and you will hear members having a go in a contest situation.
Congratulations this year goes to Indooroopilly Club’s Nathan Taylor, who won the Area 33 Humorous Contest in 2010.
